Foot Candle is the fixture finder for film and photo production. It helps you cut through dense, inconsistent manufacturer PDFs and land on the right light for the job — by output, beam, weather, weight, power, color system, and how the thing actually gets controlled on set.

Every number on this site is sourced from the manufacturer or a verifiable secondary reference — never guessed, never fabricated. Conversions to lux @3m are flagged, and the search and filters morph automatically as the underlying database grows.

We're independent — no manufacturer affiliations, no rental-house sponsorships, no paid placements. Just a working cinematographer's tool.

1% for dogs. We donate 1% of all Foot Candle proceeds to dog rescue NGOs. Lights bright, tails wagging.

• Publish unverified numbers. Pending fixtures are listed without specs, not with guesses.
• Hide methodology. Conversions are flagged; sources are linked.
• Push affiliate-driven rankings. The radar score is computed, not sponsored.

This is not a photometrics calculator. There are already great ones in the market for that. Foot Candle is upstream of that work — it helps you decide which fixture to put on the order, before you ever open a photometrics app.
